Pankaj Udhas, a ghazal voice, has passed away at the age of 72.
Padmashri Pankaj Udhar passed away on February 26, 2024, as a result of a protracted illness, according to a statement released by his family. "With a very heavy heart, we are saddened to inform you of the sad demise of Padmashri Pankaj Udhar," the statement said.
After a protracted bout with sickness, the famed ghazal master ankaj Udhas, who was known for songs such as "Chitthi Ayee Hai" and "Aur Ahista Kijiye Baatein," died away on February 26.

Having been born in Jetpur, Gujarat, on May 17, 1951, Pankaj Udhas started his career with the release of the ghazal album "Aahat" in the year 1980. Within a short period of time, he became famous in India for his ghazal songs.

Pankaj has published a large number of CDs during the course of his career and has performed at a large number of live events. Pankaj Udhas was presented with the Padma Shri, which is India's fourth-highest civilian honour, in recognition of the outstanding achievements he has made.
