In a noteworthy judicial event, Bishal Phukan—who has been charged several times—was granted bail in relation to the 352/24 case opened at Dibrugarh Police Station. Phukan will still be behind bars, though, because of two other open cases against him in Duliajan and Barbaruah, both in the Dibrugarh district.

Sumi Borah has lately entered a fresh bail petition while the court had already turned down motions for all three. Her case will be heard by the court tomorrow; legal procedures involving all three accused are expected to last for the foreseeable future.
Concurrently, the legal issues of numerous other people engaged in comparable matters are also generating news. Linked to the claimed fraudster Dipankar Barman, Monalisa Das was released from prison Tuesday night after being granted bail earlier this month. Another accused in the case, Sapnanil Das, is supposed to be let go later today. Furthermore likely to be securing his release shortly is Abhijit Chanda, another person linked to the 352/24 case.
In another instance, Jiten Deka—accused in the Azara 184/24 case—was granted interim bail on medical grounds. The matter is still under legal scrutiny; his release is considered as a temporary fix.
