Terror at Dinner: Bunty Bains Dodges Bullets in Mohali Restaurant Shootout

Bunty Bains, a Punjabi music composer and songwriter, barely evaded a murder attempt in Mohali, Punjab on Tuesday. The incident occurred when Bains was visiting a restaurant in the city's area 79.  Unknown perpetrators opened fire on Bains, but he fled unharmed. He has filed a police report.  Bains told Aaj Tak/India Today about his horrific experience. He said that he got a threatening phone call after the incident demanding a ransom of Rs 1 crore. He was informed that failure to comply with the requirement would result in death.  The threat was purportedly issued in the name of Lucky Patial, a prominent mobster said to be operating from Canada. Patial is recognised for his links to the Lawrence Bishnoi and Bambiha gangs, which have been engaged in a variety of criminal operations across Punjab.  Police stated the investigation into the incident is still underway.  Bains is recognised for influencing the careers of numerous renowned Punjabi singers, notably the late Sidhu Moose Wala. In reality, Bains' business handled Moose Wala's affairs while he was alive.  Notably, Sidhu Moose Wala was also slain in a drive-by shooting in May of 2022. Gangster Goldy Brar claimed responsibility for the murder.
